Roswell Park, an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in NY invites applications from individuals at all academic levels for faculty position in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology.  The mission of the department is to elucidate fundamental mechanisms contributing to the initiation and progression of cancer at the molecular, cellular, and organismal level.   Research direction within the Department is been driven by elucidating the intersection of genetics, differentiation/developmental pathways, and cellular features of cancer using genetically-engineered and patient-derived models.

These activities fall under five broad areas: i.  DNA replication, cell cycle control and genomic instability;  ii. Medical glycosciences, metabolism, and interface with the immune system; iii. The tumor microenvironment, and developmental pathways in cancer; iv. Stem cell biology and cell-of-origin in tumorigenesis; v. Epigenetic regulation and core transcriptional programs in cancer.   Research within the Department is supported by multiple state-of-the-art cores including: genomics; mouse modeling; genome engineering; and imaging technologies.

Applicants will be selected based on a track record of research excellence, ability to develop a robust research program, and the potential for sustained peer-reviewed funding.   The successful candidates will actively participate in Departmental and Cancer Center research efforts and contribute to educational and training programs.   Ideal candidates will further complement the current departmental strengths and bring new expertise, creativity, and energy.

Roswell Park, the nation’s first cancer center founded in 1898, has made fundamental contributions to reducing the cancer burden and has successfully maintained a leadership role in setting national standards for cancer care, research, and education.  Laboratory space will be located in a modern research complex that adjoins all Shared Resources and clinical activities of the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.   In this multidisciplinary research environment, the successful candidate will have access to numerous additional core facilities, the opportunity to interact with scientists and clinicians from many programs and departments, and the ability to conduct patient-oriented translational research in collaboration with clinicians.

New faculty receive competitive start-up packages and salary commensurate with their experience.  The Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is an equal opportunity employer.  Interested candidates should e-mail their CV, a brief research statement, and the names of 3 references to:
