Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has a reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative higher education institutions.

Rigorous implementation of our 2015 – 2020 Strategic Plan has led to significant recognition for our NTU community, culminating in our receipt of the University of the Year Award in the Guardian Awards 2019.

This prestigious accolade comes after NTU received the coveted Times Higher Education University of the Year 2017 and the influential Times and Sunday Times Modern University of the Year 2018. It also follows the University achieving the TEF gold standard.

Following the appointment of the current Executive Dean to a Pro Vice-Chancellor position, we are now seeking to recruit a new Executive Dean of the School of Animal, Rural, and Environmental Sciences. Located on our dedicated Brackenhurst Campus, the School spans a range of disciplines, including Agriculture and Horticulture; Animal, Equine and Veterinary Sciences; Conservation and Ecology; Geography and Environmental Science; and Food Science and Production. By connecting these disciplines in impactful and innovative ways we seek to engender a vibrant and inclusive learning and teaching environment grounded in scholarship, research, and professional practice. Through well-developed partnerships and a sustained focus on external engagement, our staff and students shape regional, cultural and social life.

A superb strategist, with exceptional credentials in their field, our new Executive Dean will bring the creativity of vision and proven track record of delivery to ensure our future success. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Development and Performance, and forming a key part of the University Leadership and University Executive Teams, they will ensure we maintain our place at the forefront of academic excellence and innovation. Our new Strategic Plan outlines a distinctive vision that reimagines what a university could be. If you have the insights, experience and interpersonal qualities we are looking for, we would be keen to hear from you.
