The laboratory of Adebowale Adebiyi at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill an open postdoctoral position.  The candidates will be involved in interdisciplinary research projects that use rodent and large animal models to study cardiovascular and kidney physiology and pathophysiology.  The candidates should have hands-on experience in ex vivo and in vivo experimental techniques and be willing to learn and develop new approaches.  Expertise with survival microsurgery; and ex vivo microperfusion of renal tubules, capillaries, or arterioles are required.  Useful skills include confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry, patch-clamp electrophysiology, and experience with transgenic rodent models.  Successful candidates must also have excellent organizational and communication skills and will manage projects, perform experiments, analyze data, publish papers, train students, and assist with the preparation and submission of grants.  A Ph.D., DVM or MD degree, and a sincere passion for research are required.
