Job Details
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant II position is to provide technical support in carrying out research projects on neuroimmune mechanisms of pain.
* Perform laboratory techniques such as immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, cell culture, PCR, and western blots.
* Perform other rat and mouse behavioral experiments, drug administrations, use surgical techniques, and harvest tissues, such as spinal cord, brain and dorsal root ganglion.
* Ability to plan, coordinate and execute experiments independently
Ability to statistically analyze data generated from experiments and present at laboratory meetings.
* Maintains legible notebook and/or organized database of research data, retrieves and interprets data from multiple sources.
* Coordinates with other personnel as necessary in carrying out research projects.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred: Master's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences. Neuroscience or Biochemistry is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
