Job Details
The primary purpose of the Research Interviewer is to conduct annual follow-up interviews of study participants by phone in either English or Spanish and record outcomes electronically record accurate and complete data. Fulfill functions related to conducting various research projects with general and/or specific plans within the Cohort study and/or the Department of Epidemiology
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Follow-Up/CLEAR Calls activities:
* Contact by telephone - on a regular basis - currently enrolled (including early
enrolled but lost to follow-up) participants to collect follow-up information using a
computer interactive application.
* Speak in a clear, pleasant, and understandable voice.
* Have good interpersonal skills to interact with participants in a professional
manner.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service.
* Apply elements of building rapport with participants, thus, ensuring a smooth
and efficient participant experience.
* Complete follow-ups in English or Spanish.
* Make sure that follow-ups are completed according to established procedures.
* Plan and execute strategies and exercising independent judgment to locate
difficult to find participants using different approaches.
* Responding to sensitive participant inquiries using approved resource
documents, computer information databases and the Internet.
* Document work for completeness, adherence to policy/procedures, and use of
reference materials.
* Respond to telephone and email requests using approved community
resource documents, computer information databases and the Internet.
Special Projects:
* Perform CLEAR searches using Thompson Reuter's online investigation
software specifically designed to locate people through its vast collection of
public and proprietary records as well as any other approved resource
documents, computer information databases and the Internet.
* Travel to enrolled participants last known address for informal revisits or
medical authorizations.
* Recruit enrolled participants for collaborative studies by telephone or other
methods.
* Participate in more complex projects or assignments, such as pre-screening
participants for specialized studies, following protocol guidelines required by IRB
and HIPPAA regulations.
* Interview study participants enrolled in sub-studies by telephone, following
protocol guidelines required by IRB and HIPPAA regulations.
* Prepare and send correspondence to participants by mail, e-mail, and texts
* Actively participating quality control and process improvements.
* Identify strategies to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance business
outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
Preferred: Community based research or retail industry, be able to proficiently speak, write and read in Spanish and in English, have proficient computer skills, be available to work evenings and weekends and other variable work schedules as required.
