Job Details

The Monoclonal antibodies Core facility located at the Immunology department at MD Anderson Cancer Center, is a laboratory devoted to generate monoclonal antibodies for all areas of research: basic, translational and preclinical or clinical research. We provide these developments as a service to our customers, helping them in their research, grant applications and publications. It represents a challenge because the projects are diverse for each investigators or group. It does not involve a particular project but many from across the institution.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Molecular Biology and Tissue Culture
  • Perform RNA isolation, plasmid purification, closing, etc.
  • Transfection/transduction of cell lines
  • Analyzes sequencing data, Blast analysis, use of DNAstar software
  • Cell culture, good sterile technique
  • Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS)
  • Monoclonal Antibodies Generation Will participate in the complete process of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) generation


Analyze Data
  • Maintains notebooks and other records with clarity and completeness
  • Compiles, writes and submits project results and communicates potential problems with experiments to superiors
  • Maintains high laboratory standards with regard to quality and safety
  • Analyzes data to ensure integrity and efficiency
  • Employs safe work practices
  • Other duties as assigned


Education

Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences

Experience

Required: No experience

Preferred: Must be willing to work with mice
