Postdoctoral fellow

Funded by the NIH/NIGMS K12 Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award (IRACDA) mechanism, the Chicago ARea Excellence in Education & Research (CAREER) program is a 3+ year mentored fellowship designed to provide rigorous and balanced team-based training in research and teaching to postdoctoral fellows. The goal of UIC CAREER is to build a culturally diverse group of fellows who, upon completing the program, are well equipped to be leaders in academia at research- and teaching-intensive institutions alike. The CAREER program unites faculty from the UIC Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine to support the research and career development of fellows, while Governors State University provides support for developing teaching skills at an undergraduate institution. Qualifications:

• Applicants must have completed a PhD in the life sciences or field related to mentor research (see https://iracda.uic.edu/research-mentors/) within the past 2 years or by the start of the CAREER program
• Applicants should have no more than 1 year of postdoc experience at the time of application
• Due to restrictions of the K12 funding mechanism, only US citizen or permanent residents are eligible
