Call for applications for Team Leader (fixed-term employment) position, in RIKEN, Japan
RIKEN invites applications for the position of Team Leader (fixed-term employment position) to serve in a leadership position in the following research area. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing research projects from a medium- to long-term perspective.
With the realization of digital transformation and open innovation through the rapid progress of ICT in recent years, as well as the transition of research equipment to IoT and smart labs, cross-sectional information science using the data generated in research has become important. In addition, open science needs to be promoted as an open innovation initiative for researchers to gain global competitiveness and to incorporate knowledge and technologies from outside the laboratory into their research.
RIKEN's goal is to become a research organization with a wide range of research fields centered on information research. We plan to build a network of information researchers across all fields within RIKEN, and to act as a hub for information research, including advanced data science, and to pursue research and development that can support and collaborate with other research projects through information technology.
The team will promote cross-disciplinary open science, mainly by using data from RIKEN. The team will proceed with the integration of field science and data science, with an emphasis on the field, and promote research related to data utilization, including data processing, analysis and prediction.
