The Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at The University of Utah College of Pharmacy seeks excellent, diverse applicants for a tenure-line faculty position across all ranks Assistant/Associate/Professor DOQ. We are specifically interested in applicants involved in pharmaceutics and drug delivery research. The successful candidate must possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, with post-doctoral experience and a demonstrated ability to rapidly establish a strong, competitive, and creative research program across multiple disciplines. At the Assistant Professor level, applicants are expected to develop and sustain an independent, extramurally funded research program. Applicants to be considered for Associate or Full Professor ranks must have a record of sustained extramural research. Candidates must also be committed to teaching excellence in subjects relevant to both graduate (PhD) and professional (PharmD) programs in the College of Pharmacy. The candidate’s innovative research programs will promote basic and translational research in areas such as therapeutics design and targeting, investigations on mechanistic understanding of biological barriers for successful drug delivery, pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, molecular imaging and theranostics. Opportunities exist for the successful candidates to align research areas with campus-wide initiatives such as Immunology, Inflammation, and Infectious Disease, Diabetes and Metabolism, Neuroscience, Genomic Medicine, Chemical Biology, and Cancer. Housed in the state-of-the-art Skaggs Research Institute, The Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry is one of the most recognized departments of its type, with highly accomplished faculty in drug delivery research and education and with a history of significant extramural funding and scholarly output. The Department is home to two internationally recognized centers, the Center for Controlled Chemical Delivery and the Center for Cell Sheet Tissue Engineering, and is affiliated with the Utah Center for Nanomedicine, and has a strong tie with the Department of Biomedical Engineering, with many faculty cross-listed. The College of Pharmacy is consistently ranked in the top 10 among colleges of pharmacy nationwide for receiving National Institutes of Health funding and is committed to an inclusive environment where diverse world views are respected.
