Vascular Biology Center at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher. The successful candidate will investigate roles of protein quality control and post translational modification in the function of heart muscle cells under physiological and pathological conditions.
The project will use mouse heart disease models, primary cultured cardiomyocytes, common cell lines, and recombinant adeno-associated viruses to study the mechanisms underlying the development of heart failure. Basic molecular cell biology techniques are required. Candidates with a background in vascular and myocardial biology will be preferred.
Responsibilities include planning and performing experiments in a properly controlled and ethical manner, analyzing data, and communicating results clearly through both oral and written means. Candidate will work independently as well as in collaborative research efforts.
