Post Doc Fellow, Cancel Biology

The Department of Cancer Biology within the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for the following:

Job Summary: Individuals who have recently been awarded a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD and whose goals are to acquire additional training and experience in order to enter a career in Cancer Biology research in academia and/or a research center. The position is available under an Institutional T32 Training Program in Cancer Therapeutics sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and requires US citizenship or the applicant to possess a Green Card.

Job Duties: The postdoctoral candidate will choose to work under the mentorship of one of 20 preceptors. Possible areas of research include the role of receptor tyrosine kinases in hormonally related malignancies (Susan Waltz), role of autophagy in promoting development of kidney cancer (Maria Czyzyk-Krzeska) and breast cancer (Jun-Lin Guan), targeting oncogenic metabolism and signaling in cancer (David Plas, Atsuo Sasaki), immune surveillance and immunotherapy targets (Laura Conforti), Notch signaling (Rhett Kovall), TGF beta family signaling (Tom Thompson). The overall goal of the training program is to provide training to promising cancer researchers as they work to identify pathways that can serve as targets for cancer treatment. Trainees will participate in many career development activities in addition to performing research.
