ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – Medical Physics
The Department of Physics at Oakland University is seeking an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track position in Medical Physics, starting August 15, 2021. A Ph.D. in physics is required, as well as research experience in medical or biological physics, or in soft matter applied to living systems. Priority will be given to candidates who are doing experimental research (ideally, with existing external funding); however, applications from candidates doing theoretical and computational work are welcome too. Candidates must demonstrate experience with and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The department offers a B.S. and M.S. in Physics, a Ph.D. in Medical Physics, and a Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Physics. Our well-established program in Medical Physics is active in OU's Center for Biomedical Research and has close ties with local hospitals.
