Job Posting Details

The Division of Life Science at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology is searching for at least 10 new substantiation-track faculty members at Assistant Professor or higher level in the next few years.  We are particularly interested in candidates with exceptionally strong records in the areas of neuroscience, stem cell biology, biotechnology, genomics, and structural biology.  Applicants whose research programs that are outside the above areas but will complement or enhance the existing strengths of the Division are also welcome.  Successful candidates are expected to establish an independent and internationally recognized research program and to contribute to the missions of the Division in undergraduate and post-graduate education.  

The Division of Life Science (life-sci.ust.hk) currently has 37 faculty members working in diverse research areas.  The University has a vibrant research environment and is ranked as one of the top universities in Asia.  The medium of instruction and administration is English.  The new faculty members will be provided with competitive start-up funding.

Starting salary (with full 12-month coverage) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including medical and dental benefits, annual leave and housing (where applicable) will be provided.  Initial appointment will normally be made on a 3-year renewable contract.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
