This postdoctoral research position is available for a highly motivated candidate to study in the laboratory of Stephen B Liggett at the USF Morsani College of Medicine the molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, modeling, and biophysics of G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). These projects are funded by the National Institutes of Health, and include fundamental studies as well as drug discovery and applications to lung diseases.

Designing and performing experiments, data presentation and participation at laboratory meetings, seminars, and conferences are expected, as are participation in the preparation of research materials for manuscript and grant submissions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent in biological sciences, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, or related discipline.
• Previous postdoctoral experience is not necessary.
• Must have published experience in GPCR biology, and be able to perform and help to direct standard molecular biology techniques such as mutagenesis, recombinant expression, imaging, cell culture, signaling and omics-based assays, and data analysis.

Other:

• Excellent communication/writing skills. 
• The ideal candidate should have the demonstrated ability to carry out independent research with progressively less supervision.
