Salary: £41,526-£52,559
Reference: PR20475

The Gurdon Institute, a world-leading centre for research in developmental and cancer biology, is seeking candidates for Group Leader appointments. We encourage applications in any areas that complement and expand our existing strengths. Our 16 research groups address mechanisms that underlie development and disease through work in humans, model organisms, organoids and cell systems (https://www.gurdon.cam.ac.uk/research) via employing state-of-the-art technologies such as super-resolution imaging, single-cell analyses, genome engineering, genomics and computer modelling.

The Institute is embedded in the University of Cambridge and provides an exceptional and stimulating environment that promotes collaborative and interdisciplinary research in a supportive and modern setting. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual to launch an innovative research programme as an independent group leader.

Successful applicants will receive a start-up package, have full access to all Institute facilities, and be supported by an exceptional team of core staff. Group leaders will also become a faculty member of a Department in the University of Cambridge and can join the Cambridge Cancer Centre (https://crukcambridgecentre.org.uk), a major University-wide initiative supported by Cancer Research UK to promote engagement and research in Cancer Biology. Cambridge is the largest biomedical research campus in Europe, encompassing the University and surrounding Institutes.

Informal enquiries can be directed to any of the Institute's group leaders or to glsearch@gurdon.cam.ac.uk.
