Postdoctoral Research Associate position with competitive salary and benefits is available in Dr. Xinghui Sun’s laboratory for highly motivated candidates who are interested in the pathogenesis of obesity, obesity-associated fatty liver disease, and atherosclerosis. A variety of experimental approaches including state-of-the-art cellular and molecular techniques, multi-omics profiling, and mouse phenotyping are employed to identify the key mechanisms underlying vascular dysfunction of these complex diseases. Sun lab has published in Biochem J, Nucleic Acids Res, Am J Physiol Cell Physiol, Sci Rep, and others with several papers in preparation since 2016.  For more information about Sun lab, please visit the website: https://biochem.unl.edu/xinghui-sun.

In addition to the above-described duties, the individual will be expected to accept committee assignments, reporting responsibilities, and other special ad hoc assignments as requested at the administrative unit, college/division, institute, and/or university level.

Minimum Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD in physiology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines.

Must have a strong background in cell culture, biochemical and molecular biology techniques, and small animal model systems.

Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential.  Preferred Qualifications: Previous training and experience in one or more of the following research areas are preferred: 1) fatty liver disease and atherosclerosis; 2) multi-omics approaches, bioinformatics, and computational biology; 3) mitochondrial homeostasis; or 4) non-coding RNAs.
