Post-Doctoral Fellowship in LncRNA Biology
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Vascular Biology Center at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University (https://www.augusta.edu/centers/vbc for the study of long noncoding RNAs in cultured cells as well as genetically tractable mouse models (see PMID IDs 30822570, 30584103, 29976770, 28292896, 28062498, 27444199, 27102963). The
lab is particularly focused on lncRNA discovery in, but not limited to, the cardiovascular system. The newly developed state-of-the-art lab has demonstrable expertise in molecular biology, various screening tools, RNA-FISH, CRISPR/Prime editing in mice, next generation sequencing, and bioinformatics analyses. In addition, the lab harbors its own LSM900 Zeiss confocal microscope, histopathology room for frozen/paraffin sections, and physiology room for contractile studies. The successful candidate will work in a highly interactive and collegial
group that fosters rigorous learning and preparation for faculty-hood, including grant writing and submission. The lab is extraordinarily well-funded with internal startup as well as multiple NIH grants thus allowing for ample opportunities to develop an independent research program for future job-hunting here in the USA or abroad. The successful candidate will not only enjoy unusually rich resources, but a higher than average salary with excellent benefits.
The candidate must have demonstrable expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry (eg, RNA pulldown, CLIP-seq) and a yearning for scientific excellence and independence.
Strongly motivated candidates should send an updated CV, a brief statement of research interests, and 3 references to jmiano@augusta.edu .
