Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is recruiting for a Laboratory co-Director for the Clinical Laboratories within our Human Genetics Division. In conjunction with the other directors of the Clinical Laboratories, the co-Director assumes responsibility for the scientific and clinical activities of the Genetics Laboratories. The primary responsibilities include review/sign-out of clinical cases, development of new tests/platforms including Next Generation sequencing and oversight and continued development of diagnostic testing programs. A faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is associated with this position. Ideal candidates will have an M.D. or PhD; ABMGG board certification in both Clinical Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics or Laboratory Genetics Genomics along with 3- 5 years relevant experience preferred.

The Genetics Laboratories in the Division of Human Genetics (DHG) are well-equipped, expanding CLIA and CAP certified clinical laboratories. The laboratories perform testing for inherited diseases and somatic alterations including well-established collaborative diagnostic programs for more than 200 different disorders and conditions. DHG has an ABMGG accredited training program for Medical Genetics and Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (as of July 2017). DHG also has a master’s training program for genetic counselors administered jointly with The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/svc/alpha/m/molecular- genetics/default.htm
