The Department of Biology at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Genomics and Bioinformatics to begin August 1, 2021. We are seeking an individual who takes a genomics approach to biological problems using a combination of bioinformatic, statistical, computational and biological methodologies, and who will thrive in an environment that combines teaching, research and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of developing and teaching a diverse and inclusive curriculum. Specific responsibilities include courses in genomics and in the candidate’s area of expertise, as well as participation in our introductory biology sequence. In addition, the successful candidate will also be expected to maintain an externally funded research program that involves undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Candidates who have the potential to teach biostatistics, contribute to the Data Science Initiative or other college-wide initiatives such as the 360 Program and the Emily Balch Seminars are especially encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. and at least one year of post-doctoral research experience are required by the start date.

To apply for this position, candidates must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, statement of demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a statement of teaching philosophy that includes a short description of potential courses to the Biology Search Committee via Interfolio at: https://apply.interfolio.com/77817. In addition, arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted via Interfolio to the Biology Search Committee. Applications received by September 30, 2020 will receive full consideration.

Recognizing health and safety concerns during this time, the activities for this search will be conducted virtually/remotely.
