The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has a postdoctoral research associate position immediately available.  Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree and proven skills and experience in the research areas of renal physiology and pharmacology, in particular, in molecular ionic signaling or in vivo animal studies. The ideal candidate should have publication records in peer-reviewed journals. The research focus of our laboratory will be on the molecular mechanisms mediating transmembrane signaling, exosome secretion, vesicle trafficking and inflammasome activation in renal podocytes and glomerular endothelial cells or other cells. Many novel and state-of-the-art techniques are available such as real time PCR, vector construction and gene cloning, confocal microscopy, FRET assay, fluorescent microscopic imaging of living cells, NanoSight-nanoparticle tracking analysis,‎ laser flow cytometry, LC/MS, ESR spectrometry, patch clamping and in vivo molecular imaging.
