Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately on NIH-funded projects for qualified individuals with a PhD /MD degree to study the pathogenesis / pathogen biology, antibiotic resistance of Clostridium difficile and host immune/inflammatory responses to C. difficile infection (CDI). One position is primarily for pathogenesis, biology, antibiotic resistance of C. difficile as well as host-pathogen interactions; Second position is primarily for host immune / inflammatory responses to CDI, host-pathogen interactions and development of vaccines and novel antimicrobials against C. difficile.

Research experience in one or two of the following areas including molecular microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, microbiome, and animal models are preferred but not required. The lab has established all needed molecular tools for manipulating C. difficile and mammalian cells. The lab also established two animal models of CDI to support basic and applied projects on C. difficile.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or MD. Ph.D. in a related field from an accredited institution and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment at the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
