Assistant Professor-Center for Biomedical Innovation

The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, located on Long Island (Old Westbury, N.Y.) , is requesting applications for an Assistant Professor position in the department of Biomedical Sciences and the new Center for Biomedical Innovation. More advanced career levels will be considered. We seek exceptionally creative, collaborative and productive individuals who work at the interface of biology/ biomedicine and computational sciences, engineering and/or robotics. The potential areas of focus may include (but are not limited to) tissue/organ engineering, drug discovery, application of machine learning and robotics in medical education, diagnostics, and therapy. This is a full-time faculty position with a research focus and startup package. This is a unique opportunity to join an energetic group of pioneering faculty researchers with substantial institutional support and access to a diverse student population eager to assist in research.

Responsibilities

Conduct original, innovative independent research.

Participate in teaching of the first- and second-year medical students.

Mentor medical, graduate and undergraduate students

The NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) has vibrant and rapidly growing research programs with strengths in neuroscience, cardiology, nephrology, cancer biology, and evolutionary and comparative anatomy, with state of the art equipment and facilities. There are many student mentoring opportunities including the DO/PhD program. Qualifications

PhD, MD, or DO degree (or equivalent).

Relevant postdoctoral and teaching experience.

Demonstrated ability to conduct original, innovative independent research.
