A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center. The projects are aimed at dissecting the mechanisms underlying brain damage after ischemia and reperfusion injury in fully established murine models of cardiac arrest and ischemic stroke. We use a wide spectrum of approaches, including biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, genetically modified mouse models, and mouse behavior tests.
Self-motivated individuals who have a PhD or MD degree and are currently in the US are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology, immunology, or experimental neuroscience, must be creative and capable of working independently, and will be expected to work on several projects in parallel, analyze data, and write manuscripts. Experience in rodent behavioral testing and surgical procedures is highly desirable.
Interested candidates should send cover letter, CV and contact information of 2 references to Dr. Jorn Karhausen (jorn.karhausen@duke.edu) or Dr. Wei Yang (wei.yang@duke.edu).
