Short Term Grant Programme 2021
– open to all disciplines –

The Short Term Grant Programme exclusively includes the reimbursement of travel expenses between the hometown and Bayreuth as well as accommodation costs in Bayreuth. The costs will be covered up to a maximum of 3,500 €. The Short Term Grant Programme is available to researchers regardless of their field of research.

International Excellence – Programme Goals
The Centre supports academic exchange across existing boundaries: between disciplines, between different cultures and countries, between established and younger researchers. Applicants are encouraged to learn about the University of Bayreuth’s focus areas and research strengths (https://www.profilfelder.uni-bayreuth.de/en/index.html).

Experience Bayreuth – Collaboration with Local Host
We invite researchers to carry out their own research projects in cooperation with a local host at the UBT. Prior to submission of the application, applicants are required to identify a host in Bayreuth with whom they aim to carry out their research project. The local host provides the Grantee with modern office and lab space and an up-to-date infrastructure. Applications are welcome from all disciplines, although exceptions apply.

Candidate Requirements
We award the Short Term Grant Programme to individuals from abroad with challenging and innovative research projects of top academic quality through a highly competitive, strictly merit-based selection process. The all-important selection criteria are the academic excellence of both the applicant and the cooperative project. For more information on the application and selection process (required documents, guidelines on eligibility, evaluation criteria, timeline and stages of the selection process) see our Application Guidelines for Short Term Grants (https://www.humboldt-centre.uni-bayreuth.de/en/downloads/index.html).

Application Deadline
Please submit your complete application via our online form (https://forms.uni-bayreuth.de/formcycle/form/provide/1060/1/) by November 1, 2020.
