Postdoctoral Position in Protein Design and Structural Biology (University of Michigan)

A NIH-funded postdoctoral position in protein design and engineering is immediately available at the Yang Zhang Lab, Department of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics and Department of Biological Chemistry, University of Michigan Medical School. The project involves functional protein design and protein engineering. Candidates will develop computational and biochemical methods to design new protein sequences of novel structure and functions (e.g. enzyme activity, ligand binding, and protein-protein interactions). Special attentions will be paid to designing new proteins targeting pathways of various diseases including cancer and COVID-19. Candidates with wet-lab experience in protein design and protein engineering, structural biology (X-ray crystallography, NMR, Cryo-EM), and/or computational biology are encouraged to apply. Skills in computational programming are not required but will be a plus. Excellent interpersonal skill with motivation and ability to lead an independent biochemistry laboratory is essential.

If you are interested in the position, please send your CV and a brief description of your research interest and research plan to Dr. Yang Zhang (Email: zhng@umich.edu <mailto:zhng@umich.edu>).
