Postdoctoral Scholar on Mitochondrial Biology and Metabolism in Neurodegenerative Disease, in the laboratory of Dr. Ken Nakamura. Potential areas of investigation include the identification, characterization and therapeutic targeting of pathways that regulate energy levels, and mechanisms of mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolism in neurodegenerative diseases, especially Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. Requirements include a PhD and/or MD, a strong background in biomedical research and a track record of research excellence. Passion for science, dedication, integrity, good problem solving and interpersonal skills are critical. Experience in human or rodent neuronal culture systems, cell biology, flow cytometry, microscopy and/or mouse models of the brain are preferred.
