Cancer Biology and Signal Transduction

Postdoctoral training positions are available in the laboratory of Amyn Habib, MD, to study signal transduction in cancer at the Department of Neurology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  Our laboratory focuses on the following major areas of research: 

  1. Mechanisms of resistance to targeted treatment in glioblastoma, lung and other cancers. 
  2. Synthetic lethal interactions in receptor tyrosine kinase signaling. 
  3. Mechanisms regulating invasion and proliferation in glioblastoma. 

We are particularly interested in translational studies that can be transitioned rapidly into clinical trials.  Recent publications from our lab include Nat Neurosci. 2017 Jul 26;20(8):1035-1037, J Clin Invest.  2018 Jun 1;128(6):2500-2518, Neuro Oncol. 2019 Dec 17;21(12):1529-1539, and Nat. Cancer (2020). 1, 394-409.  

We are looking for an individual with a PhD or MD, PhD degree who is highly motivated and hardworking with experience in molecular and cell biology and strong evidence of research accomplishment.  Experience working with a mouse model of cancer is strongly preferred.  Our laboratory offers the opportunity to conduct high quality research in a supportive environment.
