Scientist/ Senior Scientist, T Cell/NK Cell Signaling

Description

Genentech is seeking an outstanding scientist to lead a research group in T cell and NK cell biology with the ultimate goal of translating basic biology into transformative therapies through synthetic immunity.  The candidate will lead an independent research group whose mission will be to define mechanisms of anti-tumor immunity and immunosuppression, and develop approaches to boost the endogenous immune response to cancer.  Strongest consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in deciphering co-stimulatory or activation signals in the context of T cell or NK cell activation.  The successful candidate will set strategic objectives for their research group based on the overall goals of research oncology and publish impactful papers on their research.

Who You Are

As a strong candidate, you will have:

• PhD and/or MD with at least 3 years of relevant post-doctoral research experience in immunology, oncology, or cancer immunotherapy
• Consistent record of cutting-edge research and be an emerging leader in one or more of the specific areas listed above
• Established scientific accomplishment as evidenced by publications in top-tier journals and presentations at top scientific conferences.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential as is the ability to lead a laboratory group and oversee research programs across cross-functional research teams.
• A strong desire to contribute to our mission of translating basic science and drug development expertise into meaningful, long-lasting benefit for patients
