Hangzhou Normal University(HZNU), located in the beautiful Hangzhou city of southern China, provides advanced education and research to students in liberal arts, engineering, medicine, and many other comprehensive inter-disciplines areas. The ancestor of HZNU was the Zhejiang government-owned college founded in 1908, being one of the six earliest normal schools in China. Famous alumni include Ma Jack (the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group), Feng Zikai (influential Chinese painter, pioneering comics artist), Zhu Ziqing (renowned Chinese poet and essayist), etc. Being the most excellent institute within HNU in terms of scientific research capability and facility, School of Medicine consists of 8 departments, 7 scientific research institutions, and 1 directly affiliated hospital. Moreover, it also owns 9 non-directly affiliated hospitals and more than 70 teaching practice bases. It ranks worldwide among the top field of “Preventive Treatment of Diseases”, “Anti-aging”, “Vegetative State and Conscious Scientific Research”, etc.

School of Medicine currently enrolls more than 3400 students. Of the 230 full-time faculties, 45% of them have overseas education/research experience, and more than 70% of them hold doctorate degrees. 

The school conducts vigorous scientific research. In the past three years, it has undertaken more than 70 national-level scientific projects.
