Massey University's College of Sciences is research-led and advances knowledge by bringing the latest developments and technologies to our research and teaching. The School of Fundamental Sciences is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to take on the role of lecturer/senior lecturer/associate professor in metabolic biochemistry. This position is being offered as an ongoing full-time contract, commencing preferably June 2020.

Biochemists at Massey University, located on the Manawatū Campus, are members of the Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Biomedical Science Group within the School of Fundamental Sciences. Our research focus includes neuroscience, mammalian cell biology, human genetic disorders, phage display technologies, vaccine development and protein biochemistry. Teaching will be within the highly regarded Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry, Human Nutrition, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Science programmes with courses offered at a variety of levels.

As a lecturer/senior lecturer/associate professor you will be expected to contribute to Massey University's teaching and learning outcomes by delivering teaching and marking of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, undertaking supervision of postgraduate students and contributing as an academic citizen to activities within the School of Fundamental Sciences. Also expected, will be the development of a strong research portfolio with the establishment of research collaborations within Massey, New Zealand and further afield being encouraged.

To be successful in appointment to this position, you should have a postgraduate qualification in biochemistry or a cognate discipline.
