The Center for Inflammation, Translational and Clinical Lung Research (CILR) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, located in Philadelphia, PA, invites applications for full time, tenure-track appointments at the Full, Associate or Assistant Professor levels. The CILR is undergoing a substantial expansion, and we are currently recruiting several faculty investigators. Faculty candidates will be considered in all areas of immunology, physiology, biochemistry and/or molecular biology with an interest in the pathogenesis of chronic lung inflammation. The positions will be supported by competitive start up packages. 

Candidate Requirements:

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, post-doctoral experience, excellent communication skills and a record of productivity in the study of inflammatory disease states. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have federal funding, and a substantial trajectory toward developing a rigorous, stable externally-funded research program. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a national scientific reputation, current research funding and a history of mentorship and leadership. Candidates should be eager to participate in a highly collaborative environment, which includes significant interactions with clinical research investigators. In addition, successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the development of Fellows in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Center for Inflammation, Translational and Clinical Lung Research (CILR):

The Center is an integral part of the newly established Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at Temple University. The Department encompasses research and patient care in pulmonary medicine, and brings together clinical and basic science investigators who are committed to a better understanding of pulmonary disease, and a determination to promote the development of novel therapeutic approaches to patient care. Research core resources include flow cytometry, histology, two-photon confocal, live-cell imaging, advanced small and large animal facilities including BSL-3 housing space, micro-CT analysis, respiratory physiology assessments, and use of BSL-3 laboratory facilities for the study of highly pathogenic microbes.
