Associate/ Full Professor Faculty Positions,

Translational Adult or Pediatric Asthma Research

The Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of the use of animal models, humans, genetics or epigenetics to study mechanisms of asthma causation, aberrant lung injury and repair due to environmental exposures, response and non-response to therapeutic agents and the use of biologics/advanced therapeutics. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching graduate or medical students in the School of Medicine.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include sustaining an independently funded research program of national or international recognition in the discipline.

Individuals at the Senior level are expected to have a nationally recognized extramurally funded, transdisciplinary- research program in asthma.

The primary faculty appointment will be in the Department of Systems Pharmacology & Translational Therapeutics. Depending on the applicant's credentials, secondary academic appointments may be  available in the Department of Medicine (within the Divisions of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine or Translational Medicine and Human Genetics) or in the Department of Pediatrics, based in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

The successful applicant will be a member of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology and the Institute for Immunology.
