Postdoctoral research fellows/or research associates
Position Description:
Postdoctoral research fellow position available immediately to participate in a NIH sponsored research project, developing nanoparticle-based vaccines, in the department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. This project focuses on assembling various nanoparticles as potential vaccines. Animal test of the vaccine candidate will be carried out. The length of appointment will be 1-5 years based on performance. Competitive salary will be commensurate with the experience.
Required qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in biochemistry, virology, chemical engineering, biological systems engineering, or related scientific or engineering field
- Self-motivated individual who shows initiative and creativity
- Good communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with nanoparticle fabrications and characterizations
- Experience with biomolecule (protein, lipids, etc.) processing
- Experience with chemical conjugation
- Experience with animal tests
- Excellent writing skills
Estimated starting and ending time dates
- As soon as possible
- Contract is renewed annually based on performance and funding availability
