A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Harris R. Perlman, Chief of the Division of Rheumatology, at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.The Division of Rheumatology is the top rheumatic disease program in Illinois and one of the top 15 in the country. Dr. Perlman's research focus includes discovering the molecular mechanisms attributed to macrophages in the pathogenesis of rheumatic disease. The candidate's work will focus on various aspects of macrophage function during the development of rheumatic disease. Studies will include biopsies from patients and experimental models with rheumatic disease. The candidate will utilize cutting edge flow cytometric analyses as well as transcriptional and epigenomic analyses to uncover novel populations of macrophages. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
They are seeking a highly motivated recent graduate with a PhD, MD/PhD or MD degree with a demonstrated strong background in cellular and molecular innate immunology.
Minimum Competencies:
Applicants with experience in flow cytometry, molecular techniques and transcriptomics are preferred. Candidates should have a good command of the English language, should be available for an interview and must be eligible to work in the U.S.
