Dr. Don Sodora is a Professor at Seattle Children’s Research Institute (Center for Global Infectious Diseases). The laboratory utilizes both HIV infection of patients and SIV infection of different monkey models to achieve this goal.

A fully supported postdoctoral scientist position is currently available in the Sodora Laboratory. The successful candidate will be involved in studying a currently funded project that assesses the role of antiretroviral (ART) drugs, viral reservoirs and HIV/SIV associated pathogenesis. This project will focus on the liver, and evaluate the immunologic as well as microbiome changes associated with SIV/HIV infection and immune activation that occur in the liver throughout the infection.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and experience undertaking experiments in the field of Immunology. Additional expertise in Virology, vaccinology or computational analysis is an advantage. We are seeking applicants who are highly motivated, passionate, and innovative, who are not afraid to take risks and who thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
