The Role:

The Sr. Director FP&A - Corporate, Research & Development will be a key member of Moderna's Finance Leadership team. Reporting to the SVP of Finance, this position will be responsible for building, energizing and coaching a team of FP&A professionals with the goal of establishing an industry leading Financial Planning and Analysis team. Working closely together with the SVP Finance and the Director FP&A, Technical Operations and Quality, the successful candidate will own financial planning, reporting and analytical decision support for the Consolidated Company view and related planning processes for Corporate, Research and Clinical Development

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Support Moderna on its mission to " Deliver on the promise of mRNA science to create a new generation of transformative medicines for patients" by energizing and coaching a team of FP&A professionals who will provide strategic and tactical decision support and drive resource allocation decisions in order to maximize the life time value of our assets
  • Support the SVP Finance in building a long-term vision for the FP&A function in terms of how to develop organizationally as well as capability-wise to adequately support Moderna through its evolution towards commercial success
  • Lead financial planning and reporting processes for the overall Company and implement and/or refine effective and efficient financial planning, budgeting and performance management processes across the team
  • Develop a deep understanding of our research programs and our development candidates to oversee the financial support of our program teams including the management of clinical trial models and support for external collaborations
  • Partner with Executive committee members and other senior members of Moderna to act as a strategic thought partner
  • Drive the collaboration with our accounting team to simplify finance processes and reduce month-end-close cycles


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Strong educational foundation and preference for MBA
  • >12 years of experience in Finance/ FP&A or other analytical decision support roles
  • > 7 years of experience in reputable, multinational organizations
  • > 5 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry with Biotech and prior experience supporting a clinical development organization strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to form effective relationship throughout the organization and communicate complex analytical models/ financial concepts in a synthesized and concise manner
  • Strong analytical thinker, curious mindset and aspiration to overachieve
  • Proven track record of building high performing teams
