POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. The research focus of the Hyde laboratory is the identification and characterization of immune modulation mechanisms employed by Borrelia burgdorferi. We utilize various molecular techniques, including in vivo bioluminescence, with the tick and mouse model to elucidate the role of host and borrelial genes, involved in the pathogenic life cycle and immune evasion. A successful candidate will investigate novel regulation of borrelial signaling pathways and virulence determinants.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, medical sciences or other related field. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in B. burgdorferi, bacterial pathogenesis, genetic regulation, immunology, transcriptomics & sRNA, bioinformatics, handling ticks and mice as an infectivity model along with a strong publication record. Competitive candidates will be independently motivated, creative, and a willing team member. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with a command of the English language are required. Applicants should apply at https://tamus.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/TAMHSC_External/job/Bryan-TAMHSC/Postdoctoral-Research-Associate_R-004126-1 and send a cover letter describing research interests, CV, and contact information for 3 references to Jenny Hyde (jhyde@tamu.edu).
