A postdoctoral position is available at the Emory University School of Medicine to work on structural characterization of enveloped virus entry into cells and its antagonism by host restriction factors, using correlative fluorescence-cryo-electron microscopy. The candidate will be jointly mentored by Dr. Gregory Melikian, who applies quantitative optical microscopy techniques to delineate key steps of virus infection, and Dr. Ricardo Guerrero-Ferreira, an expert in cryo-EM techniques, and Director of the Cherry L. Emerson site of the Robert P. Apkarian Integrated Electron Microscopy Core (https://www.cores.emory.edu/iemc/index.html). Highly motivated individuals holding a Ph.D. degree in cell biology, virology, structural biology, biophysics or related fields are encouraged to apply. Fluorescence imaging and cryo-EM experience is preferred. Emory University provides excellent training and a collaborative environment for research. For more information regarding projects in the Melikian laboratory, please visit: http://www.pedsresearch.org/research-group/melikian-lab and https://med.emory.edu/directory/profile/?u=GMELIKI. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Gregory Melikian (aka Melikyan) at gmeliki@emory.edu.
