Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
POSITION: An Assistant/Associate/Full Professor with an emphasis in cryoelectron microscopy (cryoEM). This is a full-time 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position with research (65%), teaching (25%), and service (10%) responsibilities. The estimated start date is June 1, 2020.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, at Texas A&M University, seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track/tenured position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning June 1, 2020. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Assistant
Professor, Associate Professor or Professor depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will be required to develop and lead an independent, extramurally-funded, internationally-recognized research program in biochemistry in a field that extensively employs cryoelectron microscopy (cryoEM). A research emphasis in any area of biochemistry and
biophysics is invited though preference will be given to topics in the biochemistry of cancer.
Responsibilities for this position also include teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and service to the department, university, and the field, including outreach to industry.
REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or related field with a postdoctoral emphasis on cryoelectron microscopy is required. Evidence of potential for developing an outstanding research program and indications of strong mentorship and teaching skills are required for consideration for an appointment at the Assistant Professor rank.
Prior faculty-level experience, evidence of successful grantsmanship and graduate training, and outstanding research accomplishments are required for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank.
