Job Description:

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in both undergraduate and graduate courses, including courses in cellular/molecular biology or microbiology in the Biology Department's pre-health curriculum, based on the expertise of the candidate.  The position requires development of an active, biomedically-relevant, cellular or molecular research program attractive to M.S. students and to undergraduates in our pre-health programs, as well as career and academic advisement of pre-health professions students.  The Kentucky Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (KBRIN) is a network of support for biomedical researchers and educators within the Commonwealth of Kentucky and provides many opportunities for collaboration as well as competitive funding programs. Opportunities are also available to collaborate on clinical research projects with physicians, residents and fellows of Med Center Health and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine - Bowling Green Campus. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure eligible position.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed the Ph.D. in Biology or a relevant subdiscipline of Biology by time of application.
  • The successful candidate will have published their research and have experience writing grant proposals.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • The successful candidate will have experience teaching and working with undergraduate students in a research context.
