A Systems Immunologist (computational biologist/bioinformatician) is sought to assist the Vignali Lab (Vignali-lab.com) in the analyses and management of multi-omics datasets (with emphasis on single cell and bulk RNAseq, ATACseq and ChIPseq data) relevant to the study of immune cells in mouse and human cancer and autoimmune microenvironments.  This position will incorporate a wide range of skills and activities including data analysis, data management, algorithm and pipeline development, and training others in basic bioinformatics.  The successful applicant will need to split their time between the PI’s two labs at the University main campus in Oakland, and at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside, Pittsburgh.  The PI’s lab investigates novel therapeutic cancer immunotherapy targets (inhibitory pathways and cell types).  This individual will work in close collaboration with experimental scientists in both labs to assist their high throughput NGS project design, data analysis and data presentation.  The applicant is also expected to train lab members in basic computational biology/bioinformatics data analysis and interpretation.  They may also lead computation research projects involving methods development, novel algorithm development and/or or high-level data analysis of lab-generated and publicly available datasets.  The University of Pittsburgh is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
