The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator in Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center will perform administrative support duties related to the collection of clinical data and/or the coordination of clinical studies.

This is an opportunity for a recent college graduate to support faculty in an administrative role, while also participating in research. It is expected that candidates for this position will have a goal of attending Medical School in the near future.

KEY FUNCTIONS
Research (50% Effort)

  • Collaborate with faculty, fellows, residents, and research staff in Radiation Oncology to conduct clinical and/or non-clinical research projects, including but not limited to human subjects, imaging, and basic sciences research.
  • Complete protocol-specific tasks, which may include conducting patient surveys, obtaining informed consent, collecting and processing samples in the lab, and conducting experiments.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records and experimental data.
  • Assist in the preparation and publication of research abstracts and manuscripts, including obtaining and maintaining PMCIDs.

Documentation
  • Processes licensing applications and renewals as required.
  • Maintains Continuing Medical Education Credits (CME).
  • Attends program meetings, preparing needed information for dissemination and review. Follows up with meeting attendees to ensure action items have been completed and initiated as required.
  • Prepares minutes for meetings and conferences.
  • Provides program support to include scheduling and coordinating high attendance events.
  • Includes writing seminar announcements, planning advertising, and visitor travel.

Calendar Management/Travel
  • Coordinates travel for staff including registrations, hotel accommodations, and transportation.
  • Collects receipts, completes and submits travel reimbursements according to division/institutional travel procedures.
  • Submits expense reimbursements for faculty.
  • Schedules meetings, classes, seminars, symposiums and conferences.
  • Schedules seminars and workshops.

Department Operations
  • Assists the administrative efforts of the department's operations in various locations.
  • Responsible for projects as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Responsible for attending and successfully completing educational courses as assigned by Supervisor.
  • May mentor new support staff during their first six months.
  • Update Department Website quarterly.


Onsite presence is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree.

Experience

Required: None.

Preferred: Prior clinical or research experience, including undergraduate experience. Experience working with healthcare professionals and clinical research participants. Experience with University related research policies and procedures.
