The Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics

Faculty Position in Biophysical Theory, open rank

The Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics at Princeton University invites applications for a faculty position at any level, though with a primary focus on Assistant Professor candidates. We are seeking outstanding scientists in the area of biophysical theory, broadly defined. The successful candidate will have an established track record of collaborative research with experimental scientists. We seek faculty members who will contribute to our community that embraces excellence and diversity, with strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.

The Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics, housed in the Carl Icahn Laboratory at Princeton University, was established to innovate in research and teaching at the interface of modern biology and the more quantitative sciences. The Institute provides significant support to its faculty through heavy investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure, an NIH-funded graduate training program, and a high level of administrative support.

Faculty positions are jointly appointed in one of the following academic departments at Princeton: Physics, Chemistry, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Computer Science, Molecular Biology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. These joint faculty positions offer significant benefits in terms of research funds and collaborative opportunities, as well as an opportunity to interact with unusually able and interdisciplinary students. The successful candidate will have research facilities at the Institute, and teaching responsibilities (both graduate and undergraduate) will be shared between the Institute and the home department.

Essential Qualifications

All applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. In addition, applicants must have a very strong record of research productivity, demonstrate the ability to develop a rigorous research program, and be committed to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/12781 and should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae that includes a list of publications, a two-page research description, as well as contact information for three references.

Applications will start being reviewed beginning on November 1, 2019.

This position is subject to the University's background check policy.

Princeton University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
