A Research Assistant Professor is sought to assist the PI in running a lab focused on human translational cancer immunology that is be based at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh. This lab investigates novel therapeutic cancer immunotherapy targets (inhibitory pathways and cell types) identified in the PI’s lab. This individual will play a key role in running, shaping and driving the development of the human translational cancer immunology lab. This individual will also play a role in leasing with the PI’s other lab, focused on basic immunology, located at the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland.
Requirements: PhD or MD/PhD plus at least 4 years post-doctoral research experience. Strong background in translational cancer immunology with substantial hands-on experience with processing and analysis of fresh human tumors for immunological analysis. Ideal candidate will also have a strong and broad understanding on molecular and cellular immunology, and transcriptomic analysis of immune genes and pathways. Ability to and experience with supervision/training of graduate students, post-docs and technical staff is also important. Prior experience with collaborations involving clinical investigators, clinical coordinators, physician-scientists and/or surgeons desirable. Qualified candidates will be expected to establish new cellular and molecular approaches, provide new ideas and techniques to existing research programs, as well as directly participate in proposed research projects.
