OPHTHALMOLOGY RESEARCH FACULTY POSITION

The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science at the University of Michigan Medical School solicits applications from outstanding scholars for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor faculty position. We are seeking candidates with interests in all aspects of ocular and visual system biology and disease who use innovative approaches in basic or translational research. Applicants should hold an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree, and are expected to develop and maintain a cutting-edge and innovative research program as evidenced by a record of successful acquisition of external funding and a publication record in relevant peer-reviewed journals. Competitive salary, generous start-up package and state of the art laboratory space will be provided.

The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science is committed to high-quality basic research and provides a stimulating intellectual environment. The Department has an extensive track record of support by the NIH National Eye Institute including a P30-core and T32-training grant and private foundations. The successful candidate will join a collegial, interdisciplinary group of Ophthalmology faculty as well as be expected to have a joint appointment in one of the basic science departments at the University of Michigan Medical School.
