Senior Faculty Position, Department of Cell Biology, Microbiology & Molecular Biology

The Department of Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology (CMMB) within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida, one of only three preeminent Florida Universities, is seeking applications for a 9-month appointment tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.  The position will begin no earlier than August 2020.  Broad areas of strength in our department include basic and translational research in bacterial pathogenesis, genome integrity, stress response, cellular signaling, structural and computational biology, as well as lipid signaling and lipidomics. 

The department offers outstanding laboratory space, as well as a competitive salary and start-up package for the successful candidates. Opportunities for collaboration exist across the USF campus, including the USF Colleges of Medicine, Public Health, and Engineering, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, the Johnnie B. Byrd Sr. Alzheimer's Institute, and the Departments of Chemistry and Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in referred and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Associate Professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

All candidates must have a Ph.D. degree, a strong and consistent record of high impact publications in their area of specialization, and a proven track-record of extramural funding, including currently active grants. All candidates will be expected to contribute to the education and mentoring of undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers.  Candidates whose research programs span multiple departmental focus areas are particularly encouraged to apply.
