Position Summary

The Williams lab is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work with a dedicated team of structural, molecular, cellular and cancer biologists to develop next generation of protein biologics. Dedicated GPU cluster, access to multiple software packages, and additional resources are in place to ensure success. Rapid evaluation and translation of computationally-derived molecules (pipeline built to produce up to 100 mAbs per week and evaluated using biophysical methods {SPR, ITC, DSF, X-ray diffraction} and multiple cell based assays).

The Beckman Research Institute is home to more than 120 Principal Investigators, over 27 core facilities including three FDA approved GMP facilities, and seemless integration with clinicians. Some of the most important break-throughs in modern medicine have roots at City of Hope, including recombinant insulin (Humalin) and humanization of monoclonal antibodies (leading to Rituxan, Herceptin, and others).

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • PhD in chemistry, protein engineering, physics or related field
  • Must have peer-reviewed publications demonstrating competence in computational methods including de novo modeling and molecular dynamics. Designs will be characterized experimental, using such information as part of an iterative process to rapidly product novel therapeutics.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and is expected to work as part of a team



Preferred education, experience and skills:
  • Previous experience with Rosetta, Schroedinger Suite and other MD methods
  • Coding experience for novel algorithms, interfacing with standard software
  • Experience with MATLAB
