Term (Non-Tenure-Track) Faculty Position
 

The George Mason University Department of Bioengineering, within the Volgenau School of Engineering, invites applications for a renewable-term, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position beginning Spring (January) 2020. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate bioengineering courses as well as service duties associated with the department’s undergraduate degree programs. The candidate will be responsible for teaching core bioengineering undergraduate and graduate courses, and develop electives in accordance with their area of expertise.
 

Required Qualifications:

Applicants who have received a PhD in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, by the start date of the position, will be hired at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants who have received a MS in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, by the start date of the position, will be hired at the rank of Instructor. Applicants should possess a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Applicants must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with a combination of the following qualifications: teaching experience; a record of peer-reviewed publications; and demonstrated teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: clinical biomedical engineering, bioinstrumentation, imaging, computational biomedicine, biomaterials, tissue engineering, biotechnology, nanomedicine, biomechanics, bioinformatics, biomedical signal processing, and physiological modeling.
