Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate postdoctoral fellow to perform and drive an exciting research project in hematopoietic stem cell research with a focus on myeloproliferative neoplasms. This postdoctoral position will provide unique training experience in both in vitro and in vivo assay systems to study normal and neoplastic hematopoiesis, microenvironment, as well as cardiovascular complications in patients with blood disorders. There will also be opportunities for career development training and mentorship to help the candidate progress to a career as an independent researcher.

The qualified candidate should have solid experience and first author publications in molecular biology especially stem cell biology. Experience with transgenic murine models and hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell culture is highly desirable. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. Ph.D. and/or M.D. in biology or a related field is required.

Stony Brook is about 1.5hrs away from New York City (by train). Long Island is a great place to live - very affordable and diverse with something for everyone. Easy to be active all year around, with great cultural offerings.
