POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE ANTIBIOTIC DISCOVERY

We are seeking a creative individual to join a team of scientist at the Antimicrobial Discovery Center to work on discovering antibiotics against Gram negative pathogens. Our group identified several interesting compounds that are currently in development, including ADEP (Conlon et al., Nature 2013), teixobactin (Ling et al., Nature 2015), and darobactins (Imai et al., Nature 2019, “accepted in principle”). The novel darobactin class targets important Gram negative pathogens. We use several approaches, including growing uncultured bacteria and high-throughput screening using microfluidics and intelligent reporters.

            We are seeking a scientist with experience in natural products isolation and structure determination, and a strong publication record. The appointment will be for a minimum of 2 years with possible extension.
